Up Helly Aa 2027

Shetland's Viking fire festival, held on the last Tuesday of January, in which around a thousand costumed 'guizers' march through Lerwick by torchlight behind the Guizer Jarl. The procession ends with the ceremonial burning of a replica Viking galley, followed by all-night hall celebrations. The street procession and burning are free to watch.
